POETIC IMPRESSIONISM

At dVerse Meet the Bar, we're challenged by Bjorn
to consider Impressionism in words, a
formidable task!
Painting:  Claude Monet's Cliff at Pourville

Dust devil in the desert
whirl-a-gigging into the air
sailing azure currents
to know not where

Spinagain, spinagain
twirl to the dawn
roundabout gadabout
still moving on

Circuitous, fortuitous
and now at sea
whirlpooling onward
wet, wild and free

  6. There was a time that I danced like that dust devil /wet, wild, & free/ These days it's more /sweat, tame, & useless/. You did a nice job with the prompt. Your vitality is buoyant & infectious.

  12. There is great movement in your poem, Bev, created by that wonderful verb 'whirl-a-gigging'. I love the phrase 'sailing azure currents'and the final rhyming lines, which sound like a spell when you say them out loud.

That is how it is! Beverley! Round and round and still being free!

    1. What a memory you've disinterred! We used to sing Michael Finnegan on the school bus on the way home from away ball games! And THANK YOU for the other (Christy Moore), which is a delight I'll be returning to often!
