GATHERED MEMORIES

Lilian asks us to consider
the word “gather” in
this week’s quadrille of
44 words.

in reverie
memories drift from
the attic of my brain
and I revisit
the many actors
in the drama
of  my life ...
some are extras
entering stage left
exiting stage right
some have leading roles  ...
I gather their faces
in my mind yet again

Digital art is my own.

  1. LOVE your digital art and the extended metaphor of your life as a drama....using the acting terminology. "gathering their faces in my mind yet again." I like this idea...that we can be comforted by gathering faces from the past. That to me is the horrible loss for the person with dementia...the inability to focus on those faces again.
So very glad you posted to the prompt.

  3. I gather their faces
    in my mind yet again

One will always remember friends. Does not matter good or bad friends for they give life to our sheltered being!

  6. Made me think of life as a play, with people entering and exiting~ But always sad when memories drift and fade away ~

  7. I love the image, Bev, and an echo of Shakespeare's 'All the world's a stage' speech from As You Like It - on his birthday!
I love the phrase 'the attic of my brain'.

  8. Bringing the bit players to mind is a good exercise. We shouldn't leave them out of it. What would the play be without them?

  11. This reminds me of some advice the Dalai Lama gave about making sure you live a good, present life, waiting until the dusk of life to look back on all your memories, not before, and let them entertain you into reverie!
