THE SUNDAY MUSE 201
We walk about
In our chosen shoes
to keep us
quite protected
from mud and such
there are times, however
we have a need
to dispense with them
and wriggle our toes
in the mud of life.
to remember
what is real
and be reminded
to walk in faith
and never lose
touch with reality.
I love the deep and needed message that flows from your poem Bev! Beautiful and wise!
ReplyDeleteI love 'wriggling our toes in the mud of life' ... like pulling one of those chocolates from the box, never know what you're gonna get.
ReplyDeleteYou speak that like a prophet. I'm listening.
ReplyDelete"and wriggle our toes / in the mud of life." - we all need more of that!!
ReplyDeleteLove the contrast between safety and reality and the word "wriggle," which just makes me smile. :)
ReplyDeleteKeeping in touch with reality is a good idea
ReplyDeleteAh yes indeed "to walk in faith"
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by to read mine. Happy Sunday
Much💛love
Your poem is a great reminder to stay grounded, I like to get my toes muddy and walk in puddles occasionally, there is something humbling about it.

Very much so Bev! In times of uncertainties currently faith is a natural fallback to maintain sense of purpose!
Hank
Very true.
ReplyDeleteThere is a great message in your poem......."to remember what is real." I am hanging onto the natural world right now, as the human horrors going on SHOULD be unreal, yet sadly it is really happening.
ReplyDeleteYou hit it with this, Bev. Remembering what is real can be challenging.
ReplyDeleteThat is the feeling I had when I started to write warpoetry again.. now because of this war.
