dragons! Some of them might
be a nice exchange for some of the
stuff our children are being fed
in movies and television today.
“Scuse me for being an old fogy!
***************
Children believe in magic
They never get enough
But even Puff the Magic Dragon
Finally ran out of puff
They never get enough
But even Puff the Magic Dragon
Finally ran out of puff
Guns, all sorts, are glorified
And used to harm or kill
I wish Puff would just come back
If we believe in magic,
And used to harm or kill
I wish Puff would just come back
If we believe in magic,
perhaps he will.
Puff is my favorite, I was here in the 60's. Going to take more than magic I sense! Nice poem.
ReplyDeleteI like this poem, especially the last 2 lines.
ReplyDeleteI agree completely with your message. We need much more Puff, and much less gunsmoke.
ReplyDeleteA little magic might just go a long way. Let’s all clap our hands and over and over again, chant, “I do believe!”
ReplyDeleteI think we need the gentleness of Puff the magic dragon in our lives. There is so much pain.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you and Glenn - more Puff, less gunsmoke!
ReplyDeleteOh yes indeed, to the return of Puff, cheers
ReplyDeleteMuch🥂love
That is so true. The days when you could fob kids off with magic dragons seem to be gone.
ReplyDeleteI believe in magic, too, and I pray this for my own kids' world.
ReplyDeleteA magical villian is much less dangerous...I liked Puff!
ReplyDeleteNeat, but sad. Poor old Puff, still waiting.
ReplyDeleteSure hope so!
ReplyDeletemagical dragons - my son LOVES them. He is 11 and the popular 5th grade girls make fun of him for it. You can only imagine I want to breathe a bit of fire on them...
ReplyDeleteI think there has been way too much glorification of guns... a sweet dragon is so much better.
ReplyDeleteOh yes! Bring back Puff. And so cute too.
ReplyDeleteI wish we could go back to Honolee. Oh how I adored that song as a kid!
