by the school shooting in Florida.

Word … words …
There are none.
How to express the horror
once again of children senselessly killed
by a weapon in the hands
of a tortured soul
How many children must die
before action is taken by pontificating
politicians whose pockets are padded
by the powerful NRA
My words are silent prayers …
and I long for the time when
schools were safe places
and children were carefree

Fabulous image and a timely poem... sad that there are so many troubled kids who then end up causing such terrible mayhem.

ReplyDeleteWhat can I say, except to weep with you? I have stopped even commenting on this repeated horror.
ReplyDeleteYes. And the fact there have already been so many shootings this year, and is is only mid-February tells us something is very wrong. There is no reason, in my opinion, for civilians to own automatic weapons. The government seems to be bought and paid for by the NRA. We should all take to the streets.

ReplyDeleteThere simply are not enough words powerful enough to convey the horror of the situation and the sorrow of the families and friends of the victims, Bev. Actions speak louder than words and actions must now take front seat. As other above have said, demonstrations, universal and coordinated across the country must send a ppwerful message to lawmakers.
