It's Poetics Tuesday, and Mish at dVerse
has asked us to consider beauty in ugly.
I was reminded of a tattered and much-used
and abused teddy bear left behind with childish
things. Well worn, but somehow beautiful.
The art and the poem are mine.

i love this and for some reason made me cry, for all the sad left behind teddy bears, my son had a lamb he would wipe his snot on.
ReplyDeleteBeloved toys are like that, much used and tattered but so dear to the heart.
ReplyDeleteOh this is so heartwrenching.
ReplyDeleteOh that is so sweet and sad at the same time. I have a couple of teddy bears but would never leave them behind - they know too many secrets! :)
ReplyDeleteCute! I couldn't help but think of the move "Ted
ReplyDeleteAwww, this is precious!
ReplyDeleteSo very cute... and the perspective of the teddy... but I know that also grown men will come back and ask for their toy.
ReplyDeleteNice tale of the teddy bear being passed on.
ReplyDeleteI love the tale told from the teddy bear, fading beauty and/or need and happily finding usefullness and caring in another youth. Very nice.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful. I have to say, my son still has a couple of his stuffed animals, and I still have a couple of mine. They are special!

A touching poem. I like that this little teddy was given a voice....and how true, that they must hold so many secrets and probably tears.
ReplyDeleteLike little stuffed guardian angels, sacrificing everything for their people.
ReplyDeleteThis was so touching, I felt tears coming. Wonderful Poem, Bev!
