It's Quadrille #92, and De has
challenged us to use the word
CRACK in exactly 44 words.
The photo is Mt. Hood in the
distance from my daughter's
bedroom window.

Once I said I rose at the crack of dawn,
but I had a friend named Dawn who
objected
I've adjusted my terminology and
I'm pleased to say I now stand
corrected
I arise at daybreak, secure in the
knowledge my phraseology is
perfected.

Ha! How fun! I literally just used the word "phraseology" in a poem comment, and was thinking we just don't use that word enough, and here you are usin' it brilliantly. Love it!
ReplyDeleteHaha! Made me smile- thank you!
ReplyDeleteThe crack of dawn does seem like an odd way to describe the morning.
ReplyDeleteCrack of Dawn has so much more character than daybreak.
ReplyDeleteThis made me smile, too.
ReplyDeleteHa, ha! This is fun! :))
ReplyDeletePat
Fun poem, Bev!
ReplyDeleteOh.. that was fun, and made me think if there is a name called Dusk..
