MOUNT HOOD DAWN

It's  Quadrille #92, and De has
challenged us to use the word
CRACK in exactly 44 words.
The photo is Mt. Hood in the
distance from my daughter's
bedroom window.

Once I said I rose at the crack of dawn,
but I had a friend named Dawn who
objected

I've adjusted my terminology and
I'm pleased to say I now stand
corrected

I arise at daybreak, secure in the
knowledge my phraseology is
perfected.

  1. Ha! How fun! I literally just used the word "phraseology" in a poem comment, and was thinking we just don't use that word enough, and here you are usin' it brilliantly. Love it!

  2. The crack of dawn does seem like an odd way to describe the morning.

  3. Crack of Dawn has so much more character than daybreak.
