When suddenly our cyber connections
fail to take us to the magic land of
"the net" chaos reigns supreme.
Here are my thoughts about that.

The day was dark as any could get
We couldn’t get onto the internet
Our iPad, laptop, HP and Uverse
Were all beset by a dreadful curse.
Nothing to do but sit and doodle,
Hopelessly lost without benefit of Google
We’re pitiful orphans that fate forsook
Unable to access our friends on Facebook
We just keep mumbling, “what to do, what to do”
We know we have e-mail, but it’s all on Yahoo.
We just stare blankly, saying “why, oh why”
Deep in despair without our wi-fi.
If we survive ‘til tomorrow, my son, his wife and me
We look to a hero from AT |&T
Hopefully he’ll see our plight is quite tragic
And work some wonderful, mysterious magic.
We await his arrival with anticipation
Expecting an end to this cyber isolation,
And this feeling we have that minute by minute
The world’s going on, and we’re not in it!
We have become addicted to that connection... how did we ever manage before we had it... I have heard about something strange called books.
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to think of a proper term for a "psychotic break" from virtual reality.... virtual psychosis? ;) Good luck on getting it back!
ReplyDeletelololol!
ReplyDeleteAh yes .. we have become a bit attached to the wonders of internet!
ReplyDeleteThis made me smile...I had a similar isolating time with Windows 10 until my daughter could get it working. We are addicted! (K)
ReplyDeleteThe internet has caught us in its web of connection.
ReplyDeleteGoodness how can we ever survive now without the internet connection, ha..ha.. But there are books and paper to write, smiles.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately this is so true about our lives now. Well written.
ReplyDeleteThis was fun, but also a bit too true.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun poem!
ReplyDeleteGood observation about the feeling of cyber isolation that the world is going on and we're not in it.
ReplyDeleteI've had days like that, Bev - we frequently lose the internet and sometimes power.
ReplyDeleteLaughing over your humorous commentary on our utter dependence on the world wide web...we're definitely caught in it.
ReplyDeleteHaha, this is so relatable! I wish I weren't so dependent on the internet. It's kind of sad.
ReplyDeleteHopefully he’ll see our plight is quite tragic
ReplyDeleteAnd work some wonderful, mysterious magic.
We await his arrival with anticipation
Expecting an end to this cyber isolation
Certainly most frustrating when we cannot connect. It is a way of life that is necessary these days.
