THE SUNDAY MUSE #185
BROKEN
broken glass, broken vows, broken heart
some things are cursed from the start
like translucent wing of dragonfly
speeding unknowing into hurricane sky
delicate particles cast asunder
lost in lightning, wind and thunder
like the shattered glass, translucent
crystalline, colorless, pallucid.
clear the shambles, exorcise
and vow, like Phoenix, again to rise
This is awesome, Bev ~~ one of your best!!
ReplyDeleteWow, well done, Bev! So much movement in this poem. I saw on the news there was a TORNADO heading for Vancouver tonight. Most unusual. Your hurricane made me think of it.
ReplyDeleteBeen a long time since I've read a mention of Phoenix and the rise again. It was a fun read, the rhyme helped it much.
ReplyDeleteThe broken glass reminded me of our mom's fear of broken glass around the farmstead, she didn't who all and what the people living there before us. So we were not allowed to go barefoot.
..
Like the rhyming couplets and the positive ending
ReplyDeleteBroken, but not destroyed. Lovely poem Bev.
