and we’re to write a poem with a local bent.

DEMOCRACY IN MOTION

Two green lawns, side by side,

proudly displaying their choice

one Trump/Pence; one Biden/Harris

a microcosm of America

just down the street

democracy in motion

  1. I still hope... but it seems like the results is still stirring up division.

  2. They might have to keep those two lawns a long time.

  3. Hopefully indeed - and just how the resolution plays out has us (here in Australia - and I'm sure around the world) on tenterhooks. May they tend each other's lawns, plant shared borders and sweep each other's sidewalks of fallen leaves.

  4. I hope the election results will be accepted and USA as a nation can move on. Looks good on 2 lawns - democracy in motion.

  6. Yes, we must remember we're all Americans... if we still believe in democracy!

    1. It IS difficult to understand and unprecedented. Our president (whose mental acuity is in question) refuses to admit he's lost and insists on saying the election was rigged and he's being robbed of his presidency. He may have to be dragged from the white house kicking and screaming. It's an international embarrassment.

  8. A nice straightforward and topical message, I am sure democracy will win out now because Biden's win was so convincing in the end!

  9. I hope so too; this whole- 'What's he going to do next' is nerve-racking!

    1. It's like finding a hand grenade in your back yard and the pin has not been pulled. It IS nerve-racking.

  10. This asshat pumpkinhead has been the single most abhorrent, incapable, unqualified, and dishonest President (and I cringingly use that term quite loosely) this country has ever had to suffer through. Bev, I say good riddance to bad rubbish!

  11. I like this! We live smack dab in the city of Boston so do not see "yard signs".....but I've seen video of them on the news. Some folks have even gotten into arguments with neighbors about signs.....sigh.
