SHANKSGIVING

Who was sacrificed for today?

A proud gobbler who had other plans

A piglet perhaps who was out to play

A lamb known to his many fans

No doubt they had each dreamed success

Far afield from this actual truth

Never expecting to be considered largesse

What a dire ending, forsooth!

    1. Thanks, Carrie. My grandson's wife just tested positive for Covid, so our planned small gathering is cancelled. We'll be cooking, however, and leaving their dinner on their porch.

  6. "Shanksgiving!" I find lambs too cute to eat, even though they are delicious.

    1. I used to love veal parmesan until my daughter reminded me graphically what I was eating!! Haven't ordered it since.

  9. I suggest lettuce hearts and mountain rivulet water for a politically correct thanksgiving lunch!

  10. For a long time I've felt sorry for the little pigs riding in the back of an 18 wheeler headed to market. We have been gifted with the food chain but that thought dosen't do much for me. But I'm not a vegan nor a vegetarian.
Thanks for reminding me of Jim Jones, (grimace),
