Magnetism Schism

It's Quadrille Monday #144, and the key word is "magnetism"
in exactly 44 words, no more, no less. Limitation causes
pertubation, I fear!

I dread the rule of forty-four
Seems I always have some more
                                  To say for my quadrille

When it comes to magnetism
There’s a definite schism
‘Tween allowed and what I feel

Now I’ve only eleven left...
Alas not done, and quite bereft

  6. Alas, with only 44, all good poems come to an abrupt end1 :)

  8. Those words keep trying to stick to your poem. 44 really does make us condense our verbosity!

  10. Haha, oh you summed up my feelings about the prompt tonight! It was a great prompt but to compact all I had to say into those 44 words was tough. You've done a fantastic job, and made me smile

  11. Ah....you made me smile! I've never minded the 44 in the quadrille, but the 144 in the prosery is a really tight fit for me! :)

  12. Oh... but surely less is more. I always approach the 44 words as a sculptor would with a piece of clay... you know what you have.
