NIGHT RIDERS
T'was a starry, starry night
Vince craved a country drive.
He picked up two cohorts who
look familiar, sakes alive!
Sal and Frida were up for a roam
Any diversion from being
Sequestered at home
Stop at the corner, said Sal to Vin
I’m in the mood for some bottled sin
Frida nodded with a Marlboro puff
Whatever you choose, just get enough
Off they went in Vince’s Cadillac
Strangely, it's said, they
never came back.
Love when my morning begins with a laugh ~~ thanks!! I can see them sipping from the bottled sin.
ReplyDeleteThis was wonderful fun to read Beverly! I love when rhyme and humor dance together!
ReplyDeleteThis is marvelous! It's an urban legend of the perfect escape.
ReplyDeleteI love a good road trip! Sometimes, a bottle of sin brings a grin.
ReplyDeleteWhatever you choose, just get enough....i love that!
ReplyDeleteI love your ending. Call it "Lost in sin?"
ReplyDeleteThanks for the heads up on the passenger in back. I had thought it to be a guy holding a lap of flowers. I might should get a computer again, this Gslaxy 8 smartphone is causing me embarrassment.
I'm leaving the picture up for now, I enjoy seeing it. The write will stand alone.

ReplyDeleteDelightful Beverly!
ReplyDeleteOh I love this! You've captured the image and artists splendidly!
ReplyDeleteIt reminds me of a song by Fastball, called "The Way."
ReplyDeleteThey left before the sun came up that day
An exit to eternal summer slacking
But where were they going
Without ever knowing the way?
Whatever you choose, just get enough... indeed!
A road trip with bottled sin.why would they ever come back? Love this, Bev!
