THE PRIDE AND THE FLOCK
“I’m King of the Jungle“, the lion roared.
“We rule the jungle, my pride and I.”
“Baaaa humbug", replied the lamb. "Everyone
knows pride goeth before a fall. ‘Tis I
and my flock who rule the jungle. We’re
the flockin’ greatest of all.”
So it continues, the age-old conundrum
as old as the tick of the clock……
who is it that rules the jungle…..
Is it the pride, or is it the flock?
So love this! The argument of dominance always seems to be with us.
ReplyDeleteSmiling with glee over this one, Bev! Quite brilliant ... the answer is it's the flock of older, wiser women!
ReplyDeleteLOL! I love the "flocking greatest..."
ReplyDeleteInteresting ponder Bev

DeleteGreat question! Love your perspective here Bev... :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful perspective and question, Beverly.
ReplyDeleteConundrums make my head ache, so I will leave the answer to you!
ReplyDeleteSome circular arguments are just so hard to resolve. But I do like that I can hear the lamb rolling her eyes in the tone.
ReplyDeletei liked the lovely rhymes in the poem.
ReplyDeleteah, it's a difficult question to answer unless we take sides.
I wonder of this is one of those unanswerable questions? But I'll take sides and say I hope it will be the flock. (Provided it's an educated, thinking flock.)
ReplyDeleteA refreshing take, Bev. And I await to hear the answer to your question, one day.😊
ReplyDeleteI like this. "Baaaa humbug!" That's kind of a sassy sheep.
ReplyDeleteBeverly, I like this!! Whimsical, but why not?
