Quadrille #135, and the word is "groove"....in exactly 44 words. These days when I get my groove on its with a walker, a cane and my orthopedic wedgies, but I'll give it a try.! Submitted to dVerse, 9/6/21.

GROOVIN' ALONG
I’ve longed to be groovy
A little gucci and hep
Cool, suave, and debonair
Happily getting my groove on
Being a lovable kind of chick
Then confusion overcomes me
I thought I understood
I’m practicing tongue in groove
But it doesn’t make me popular
A much better way to be groovy in my book.

ReplyDeleteAh yes....the plight of "trying to be popular" -- the pressure to "fit in" and oh how well you've used the word groove here. Even the kids who want to be different hang together and are similar in they way they dare to be different!
ReplyDeleteI think your poems are pretty groovy...
ReplyDeleteEveryone has their own particular groove that no one else can duplicate. Sounds pretty groovy to me!
