THE SUNDAY MUSE #176
Bogged down in dubiosity
Loaded with curiosity
Looking for a change of pace
Set your sights on tinsel town
That’s where it all goes down
A sampling of the human race
You’ll find …..
Haves and have nots
Putting quarters in the slots
High rollers and risk takers
Looking for deal makers
Lipstick and stilettos
Escaped from the ghettos
Sightseeing farmers
Soul-seeking charmers
Jaded entertainers
Star-spangled gamers
Moustachioed sinners
and clever tale-spinners
all looking for an easy mark
We’ll set our sights on Vegas
whichever way will take us
Surely they’ll all be there.
Never been to Vegas, but now I know what to expect! You capture a sordid glamour in the 'sampling of the human race.'
ReplyDeleteI believe you enumerated each and every one of them. Perfectly. [except for Carl and Mom who are celebrating his 60th birthday there next month]
ReplyDeleteHA! I'll leave it to you to give yourselves a moniker!!
DeleteThing 1 and Thing 2.
DeleteI once knew a "soul-seeking charmer" who lived in Vegas. LOL.
ReplyDeleteLove the clinking of the casino chips in the rhyme!
ReplyDeleteThis was...unexpectedly moving.
ReplyDeleteI feel as though I have been there now! Love the flow and rhyme in this Bev!
ReplyDeleteWow what a crowd in Vegas. Nice on Bev
ReplyDeleteThanks for dropping by my blog today
Much💖love
It'll be a full house I have no doubt!
ReplyDeleteFun, Beverly. Mrs. Jim puts a Dollar$ to play the slot machine so she can sit down for a while when waiting for the rest of us.
ReplyDelete..
Vegas draws in all kinds of people. Sin City described perfectly.
ReplyDeleteAmazing rhymes in this, Bev! Love it.
