RICHES UNTOLD

FRIDAY WRITINGS  and idle thoughts.  I borrowed from Colleen's wardrobe, Magaly's word, and followed my muse.  I hope they don't mind!  Submaitted January 14, 2122

RICHES UNTOLD

drooping sox and unmatched mittens

scraped knees and weathered denims

enkindled childhood memories

toasty kitchen, smells of cookies

daddy's chuckles, momma's hugs

battered table speaks of love

brothers, sisters, no matter which

it's our secret we are rich

  1. That last line had me smiling. Now that's a lovely secret more people ought to be let in on, if only so they can recognize the riches in their lives too.

  2. Reminds me of my mom's kitchen, Grandma's too.
Enkindled well, Bev. Coleen would be proud.
Nice rhyme too, I might call it loose rhyme
but that would be incorrect, I think.

  7. I love that you borrowed and made the word even warmer--richer too. Indeed, having loved ones and loved memories is the best kind of wealth. Also, cookies!

  8. "battered table speaks of love" - reminds me of the kitchen table where my mother made her homemade noodles that I miss.

  10. I enjoyed this. Borrow those words away and don't give 'em back. I liked that last line
