It's Quadrille Monday at dVerse and Mish
has given us "drizzle" for our word to
be used in our quadrille of exactly 44 words.

When I was young and sparkly
I had a lot of sizzle
Now that I’ve grown older
My sizzle is a fizzle
I start my day all perky
My expectations are great
But drizzles seem to beset me
And my perk seems to abate.
This was smart, funny and wise.
ReplyDeleteCompletely charming!
ReplyDeleteA fun read!
ReplyDeleteI think you're still young and sparkly.
Aw shucks, Mish. Thanks
DeleteI believe you are all perky inside and outside Bev ~
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind words, Grace!
DeleteThat's how my day goes as well.
ReplyDeleteAs our bodies begin to betray us, we must keep mentally alert with writing poetry & all other mental pursuits we can muster. Photography serves me well too--that and Trivia challenges.
ReplyDeleteI so agree, Glen. I co-administer 3 art challenge blogs in addition to my poetry blog, belong to a small writers' group, a small art group, and keep half a dozen on-line scrabble games going with family and friends. Our philosophies are much the same.
DeleteI'd say you drizzled the bejebus outta this prompt ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm not even that old, and yet I can relate to this. Love the rhyme scheme.
