and Laura asks us to consider
our relationship to order… do
we need it, want it, or ….
Here are my thoughts.

Consider the communal dishwasher
I don’t know whether to kick or punt
It seems so obvious to me
To load it from the back, not front
I don’t know whether to kick or punt
It seems so obvious to me
To load it from the back, not front
And then there’s the bathroom story
And the case of the toilet tissue
There’s no way but to roll from the top
Who’d think that would be an issue
And the case of the toilet tissue
There’s no way but to roll from the top
Who’d think that would be an issue
Let’s keep things in order
That’s just what I think
So I find it quite stressful
Finding dishes in the sink
That’s just what I think
So I find it quite stressful
Finding dishes in the sink
I’m such a simple person
And my weary heart sings
When everyone understands
The required order of things.
And my weary heart sings
When everyone understands
The required order of things.
I agree. I think it is only rational to roll from the top.
ReplyDeleteSings every family member in every household! Funny and fun poem, Beverly!
ReplyDeleteI like this orderly poem, very rational, no cause for rebuttal. My dishes are done and the tissue in tact. But don't look too closely at the rest of the house.
ReplyDeleteI soooo agree with you, Bev! Perfectly ordered poeming. :)
ReplyDeleteevidently you understand order - a place for everything and everything in its place! thanks for joining in Bev
ReplyDeleteEveryone does indeed have their own methods for dishes! This made me smile.
ReplyDeleteThis made me smile. :) Nice one, Bev.
ReplyDeleteI think I sometimes contribute to a little less order at home... guilty as charged.
ReplyDeleteAll three are high on my list of gripes.
ReplyDeleteRoll it from under, sorry. But yes, people who load the dishwasher from the front are monster.
ReplyDeleteugh. monsterS
ReplyDeleteA wonderful poetic instruction manual for housemates.
ReplyDeleteHumor is so welcome, especially now.
I would love to write with you. https://flashlightbatteries.blog/2020/04/13/thoughts-swirling-lets-write-together/
