MYSTERY STAIR

I'm "fudging" a bit, using an entry for one of my art challenges, but the poem is ekphrastic, inspired by the photo of the deserted stair that seemed to lead nowhere.

  5. Time passes and what was useful once now appears abandoned and our minds then wonder what story is behind it. As a young boyr I can remenber occasionally coming across such relics with intrigue. What a great read!

  8. I enjoyed the pondering, Bev. I'm often of the same mind when I run into a structure that has been around for a while. I believe it honors an old place when we take the time to think who built it.

  9. I've seen stairs like that on my rambles here and there (in better times when rambling was still possible) and have done my share of daydreaming too.

  10. This reminds me of visiting our local arboretum & being thankful for all the scouts and families who came before who gave benches and swings for grateful walkers. A poem that carries both mystery and grace. :)
