Weekly Scribblings #78. We're challenged to create a form of micropoetry. I chose an elfchen in honor of a recent trip out of state to be with family not seen since before Covid. Submitted to Poets and Storytellers United, July 14, 2021.

FAMILY
gathering
long awaited
my heart rejoices
these are my people
family
I like how you refer to them as your people. My brothers are so much older than I am we have never been close. "My people" sounds wonderful, your own tribe.
ReplyDeleteI can feel your rejoicing all the way from Bend. And naturally we would choose the same!!
ReplyDeleteI can see your smile in the words. The pandemic has taken so much from everyone. It's wonderful to see that we are taking some things back.
ReplyDeleteI can feel the joy in your words.
ReplyDeleteHappy Wednesday Bev
Much💜love
This so beautifully conveys that deep feeling of belonging, especially in the last two limes.
ReplyDeleteSounds as if you have been waiting a long time for this. Enjoy !
ReplyDeleteWe are in lockdown until August
I feel the same way. Beautiful sentiments.
ReplyDeleteI still have some family that I haven't yet been able to see. I'm waiting for that long-awaited embrace.
ReplyDeleteAfter the waiting, sun shines!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I was able to have a bit of that joy too recently.
