TEDDY

Grace has asked us to consider personification and imagery at Poets Pub this week.  I've chosen to speak for a teddy bear, discarded as his master grew up and away.  Submitted January 14, 2021

  1. That's life ever progressing and changing. It is still good to have a faithful companion by the side! Yes, Bev!

  2. Oh so lovely Beverly! I too thought of my old (very old!) bear when I saw today's prompt. I went with imagery so I'm thrilled you did personification and brought your dear bear to life ❤️🙂🥰

  4. This IS good, Beverly. My Teddy hated & tormented me, so I was glad to finally get away, but I'm pretty sure most folks have had warmer relationships. Thanks for sharing!

  5. I love your poem Beverly... such a great use of the prompt. I like the cycle of life for the bear, just like us!

  6. Oh - this is so sweet and sad! When I was a kid, I used to imbue all of my stuffed toys with life. I couldn't even throw them out when I got older, now they're mouldering in my dad's attic...

  9. It's so sad when we grow out of the generosity of children to the narrow selfishness of adults.
