Quadrille #129, and our word to consider is CURIOUS or a form thereof. Everyone who knows me knows I suffer from terminal curiosity. Submitted to dVerse May 31, 2021

What makes boats float?
Why do airplanes fly?
No one is more anxious to know
Who What Where When and Why
What makes the bumblebees buzz?
Why do lightning bugs light?
I’m curious, and I must discover
Why do bats only fly at night?
The rhyme in this sends the curious mind bouncing forward in such a delightful way. This would be a fun kids' poem!
ReplyDeleteExcept kids would expect an answer for every question!!
DeleteLove your rendering of questions that always linger on but remain unanswered! Wonderful rhyming Bev!
ReplyDeleteHank
Love the fun rhythm of your verses Bev !
ReplyDeleteI like it. :) My mind went in a similar direction at first with this prompt. I like the rhythm and wonder.
ReplyDeleteLove this! So many questions, so many thoughts!
ReplyDeleteQuestions to last a lifetime, Bev, and we have so much fun finding out the answers!
ReplyDeleteI love the sense of childish wonder in these questions. It is good to stay curious because the world is full of wonders and sometimes we fail to notice this as adults!
ReplyDeleteAh yes, would curiosity still exist if we were not able to ask questions?
ReplyDeleteAh yes, would curiosity still exist if we were not able to ask questions? (forgot to sign in the first time)
ReplyDeleteAnd I concur, why indeed, you capture the curious mind completely.
ReplyDeleteAnother beauty for the book you/we are going to publish with amazing illustrations too! I can visualize it ~~~~~
ReplyDeleteah. i must admit i have googled these questions. charming, Ms. Beverly.
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful when questions can stir and excite us! Life would be boring if we had all the answers.
ReplyDeleteMaybe asking the questions is better than knowing the answers.
ReplyDeleteI like the flow of this poem. Nicely done.
