MANO A MANO

This week’s Quadrille #38 is to feature
a form of the word DREAM in exactly
44 words.   I don’t usually write
political rants, but one seemed due.

The world dreams in fear and trembling
as two deranged world leaders
who drank from the poison well of power
engage in a juvenile game of mano a mano,
their missiles phallic symbols of their
insecurities in their game of “mine’s
bigger than yours.”

  1. That just about sums it up. Unfortunately.

  2. I feel that it only takes one simple slip to push the world into disaster....

  3. Well summed up, Bev! This whole situation has to be scariest in a long time. The strangest thing is that they both look like prematurely aged toddlers.

  4. Scary times we live in. It seems you an I have just lived from one war to another. What a sad commentary.

  5. Sums the situation up only too well, perfectly put, a scary truth of scary times.

  6. There seems to be always someone keeping the world in nightmares.

  7. It does make you think they're compensating for something. Kim Jong might just be nuts. Killing his family and all. I'd hate to be privy to his dreams; come to think of it, not The Donald's either

  8. Two demented people...we are mere puppets to their one-upmanship ~

  9. Big vain bully--babies--all ego with no substance--bang on, Bev. Those of us who ducked & covered in the 50's (which they are relearning in S. Korea now) & lived through the Missiles of October--are having those old nightmares again.

  10. Wow - you have captured that to perfection. Let's hope these children grow up quickly. The beast of nightmares raises hell.

  11. So right. We are in nightmare mode, the whole world. Ugh. Very aptly put.

  12. What we see is not all there is....

  13. Bravo! My question in all this is, "Is this what we want our children to learn--and continue?" :()

  14. Well put (leaders or school boy? Even scarier - it worked)

  15. These two are like bratty siblings. They need a mother's tough love.

On a more serious note, I hope things simmer down.
