poem of exactly 44 words is to
include fix or a form thereof.

a woman’s heart has no filter,
she falls for a pretty face
it doesn’t seem to matter
if his habits are a disgrace
he’ll suffice, she tells herself
as she blindly picks him
but trouble will surely follow
as she sets out to fix him.

Yup. Amen to that.
ReplyDeleteDon't fix him...
ReplyDeleteUh, oh, not the fixer upper. Unhappiness awaits.
ReplyDeleteThis is true. :) It is so easy to fall for the wrong person and think that he will eventually change.
ReplyDeleteOh my yes.
ReplyDeleteI like the tension between "picks him" and "fix him".
ReplyDeletehe’ll suffice, she tells herself
ReplyDeleteas she blindly picks him
Hoping for the best not of the person but of the impending disaster. It will go wrong, whatever that can be wrong in matters of the heart! Very true Bev!
Hank
Trouble always come when trying to "fix" someone. Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteSome things one just can't fix and that is the cause of many broken hearts.
ReplyDeleteSo true.
ReplyDeleteNope some things can't be fixed.
ReplyDeleteSometimes you don’t find out until it’s too late – and it works the other way round too!
ReplyDeleteFunny how that never works...
ReplyDeleteOK, I admit to liking the pretty face ... and admit to trying to fix one or two of them. No go.
ReplyDeleteCan't fix them, so right.
ReplyDeleteLuv your choice to rhyme
Have a good week
Much💙love
Goodness, we can't fix other people, just ourselves.
ReplyDeleteWe are natural "fixers". Yes, 44 words is never enough for this topic....haha.
