Our photo is titled “Snow White and Rose Red”

me for where it led me!

*************
I fell asleep one dreary night, and had
the strangest dream.
I tried to learn the signs it brought
and wondered what it means
they say a bear dream means you’re strong
and very independent
my bear was accompanied by
ladies quite resplendent
I pondered long and hard
just what they said to me
and, if you’ll “bear” with me
this is what I see
Snow White is sleeping,
waiting for her prince to appear
Rose Red reminds me it’s
not likely this year
The alarm clock sounded
I woke with a yawn
fatigued with my dreaming
I welcomed the dawn.
the moral of the story
at least so it seems
is that pizza at midnight
makes for puzzling dreams.

Oh how I love this Beverly! Made me smile and the rhyme is steller! Yes some things like pizza or too much wine can make for dreams out of this world! 🤩
ReplyDeleteKerry called .... she does NOT forgive you! I do though and grinned throughout the poem.
ReplyDeleteI had to smile at the ending of this poem......though I now feel like eating pizza! This was sweet, Bev.
ReplyDeleteI love those dreams, wish I could induce one. Even both my recurring dreams don't show. You told this nicely, I enjoyed reading it.
ReplyDelete..
Ha! Pizza at midnight is an iffy proposition. :) This, however, is a wonderful story.
ReplyDeletehaha the ending was brilliant, wine makes for lucid dreaming in my realm.
ReplyDeleteHa! No doubt, as I discovered last night after having a burger rather too late in the evening. I actually did dream of a bear about a week ago. I dreamed that I saw one out in the yard and was trying to hide my dog from it.
ReplyDeleteHahahaha! Maybe more, rather than less pizza- for more such delightful poems :)
ReplyDeleteGet me some of that pizza!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love the smile twist of your ending...lovely writing!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading this lovely, dreamy poem.
