DEAD END

Mish has asked us to feature a
road sign this Tuesday.

There once was a guy named Fred
Wherever he went, he sped
When his foot hit the floor
He thought there'd be more
Alas!  Now Fast Freddy's dead.

  1. Your poem reminds me of the finest of Epitaphs. Sad, ironic.

  2. Good sign and good take on it, Beverly. I wish we could post that poem on the road in front of my house. It's like Dorothy said, "My, people come and go so quickly around here".

  3. Nice limerick. So they really do put dead end signs on cemetery drives. Perhaps "No Outlet" would be even worse.

  7. I laughed out loud--sure I would have scared my dog if she wasn't deaf. I just love that sign. We have a Cemetery Road here in Reno--sad thing is, the people that live there are so impoverished. Use to visit patients there when I was still nursing.
