BEYOND THE SKY

Quadrille #112, and we’re asked to

include the word sky in our 44 words.

***************

man dreams
ships that go
beyond our sky
to space mysterious

where asteroids cruise
galaxies unknown
and planets hide
beyond our sky

at night we peek
above the clouds
to vast infinity
beyond our sky

 we seek to know
the secrets
 beyond our sky

  2. Hi Bev! This is something I need to share with my fellow writers here at dVerse. I so enjoy reading the work that you create and post, and am genuinely honored to be embraced as a part of this community of poets. May we all find healing in these challenging times. And as a true aquarian love child, and also a proud flower child of the 60’s, who truly believed then we would some day change the world to be a better place for all, and still believes that we might yet do it — I wish each of you peace, health, and love. Write on!

    1. There's something about this comment that disturbs me. It sounds like a farewell address. I certainly hope that is not the case, and you have just taken the time to express your feelings at this moment in time.

  5. Your poem validates what I believe ... that there are limitless vistas waiting for humankind's exploration. And that we are intelligent and curious enough to find them. I love this.

  11. The repetition of ‘beyond our sky’ takes the reader into space on a smooth ride, Bev. There is so much that we don’t know, can only dream of, and will never discover, it makes me feel tiny and insignificant – puts me in my place!

  12. Sadly humans would do better to sort out their own planet first before upsetting or contaminating the rest of our galaxy. I don't mind us peeking but rubbishing or infecting other worlds is bad indeed.
