Let’s wrest calm from Covid chaos,
you and I and all the rest
Our case rests on solid ground
Having said that, I rest my case.
Now I’m tired, and need some rest.
Well played, Bev!
ReplyDeleteNicely written, and the first line is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteYou are SO clever with words. My brain feels fried today ~ maybe a poem will materialize tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteYour poems are always worth waiting for!
DeleteVery clever, Beverly. Rest ore Wrest in each line and still makes lots of sense. We all need rest from the Covid.
ReplyDelete..
LOL, very cute word play.
ReplyDeletelove it... I need the rest from argument and covid madness. Or maybe I would get it if I rested my arguments. :)
ReplyDeleteThere is no rest for the wicked, my Granny used to say
ReplyDeleteNot quite sure what she meant...still dont
Bev, I just love the cleverness of your words. This one left me smiling. Also, nodding in agreement.
ReplyDeleteGo forth, and wrest your rest from whatever you think will yield rest best!
ReplyDeleteA lovely play of words, Bev! I also appreciate your humour amid this Covid chaos.
ReplyDeleteThe only rest we really need is knocking Mr Covid on the head so we can have a peaceful night's sleep. As for the rest your poem is best.
