of Catrin Welz-Stein.

*************

Midnight epiphanies

when the brain runs free

imagination unfettered

presents wonderful visions

of serendipity….

unlikely things in likely places

glorious in new surroundings

Why not cradle

a swan in a hat, I say

let them all float off

on a cloudy day

Serendipity!

  1. Serendipity indeed! LOVE this! :) Sometimes, it is balm to the soul to just let the mind wander. And sometimes, the child in us can come out in the images we see. I do think in these trying times, it is good to just let the mind wander to magical places :)

  5. I almost wrote to this one. Such a lovely picture! This line is magical: "unlikely things in likely places" ingredients that give serendipity its savor.

  9. You are the first poet to choose this image, and I love what you've done with it, celebrating the serendipitous power of dreams!

  10. Serendipity is one of my favourite words, Bev, and what a coincidence that you chose the image with a sawn – on my walk yesterday morning, where I saw quite a few ‘unlikely things in likely places’, I took a photo of a pair of swans in a stream! But I would not attempt to cradle a swan in a hat, they are vicious and all the swans in England belong to the Queen.
